6th-8th Grade
The 6th-8th grade students are participating in fitness testing for the next few weeks. Each week they will perform one of the assessments. Last week 8th grade started with the PACER test. Then the students will move into the push and curl up test and then finally the back saver sit and reach. If you are interested in more information about fitness testing, please go the the page References for Health and PE. I have provided the FitnessGram website. Take a look and let me know if you have any questions!
After fitness testing the students are moving to Yard Games. They will start with Corn home, which is also known as Bags, and progress to ladder toss then spike-ball.

3rd-4th Grade
4th graders are also participating fitness testing but done for participation, not for age-range data assessment. I encourage the students to try their very best and get comfortable with the assessments. Then they are progressing the a modified version of corn hole.
K-2nd Grade
K-2nd grade are moving into an Aerobic activities unit. These will be activities that work their cardiovascular system. My goal of this unit is to teach students that when we move, our hearts beats faster and when my heart beats faster, my body will provide my muscles with oxygen to help them continue to work. K-2nd does not participate in fitness testing. They will learn the components of fitness and why they are important.
